Job Club to Get to Work in Thurso
Everybody Online Caithness working with Ormlie Community Association has secured 1 year of funding for a Job Club.
The £10,000 scheme which is being underwritten by The Highland Council and Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd is due to go live after the summer. Job Club Co-ordinator, Mandy Swan, has been appointed to the post and will be responsible for the set up and over all running of Job Club.
Participants will be coached in interview technique, CV writing, basic IT and internet skills as well as being given the support and confidence building need to encourage long term unemployed back in to the job market or further education.
Project Officer Shona Munro believes the ventures will pay dividends, with the sessions helping people to take the first step back onto the job ladder. Shona said "We’re also hoping to get local businesses to come and speak to the group about what they expect out of an employee and how prospective employees can best represent themselves".
