Alamein – Where Do You Think You Live?
EverybodyOnline Alamein, in partnership with Hampshire County Council, held a successful Local History Event at Askalot, Alamein’s Community Information shop.
Photographs of Alamein, maps and a timeline of its history, were on display during the event, and visitors used laptops to watch cine film of Andover during the 1920’s and 30’s.
Although the weather was very bad on the day, many local residents dropped in during the event; to their delight some visitors actually recognised family members and friends in the photographs and cine film.
Visitor’s memories and experiences of life in Alamein were recorded during the event; and will form the basis of the Alamein Community Archive.
