Silver Surfers Day in Gorgie Dalry
EverybodyOnline Gorgie Dalry project will host another Silver Surfers Day in partnership with Fountainbridge Library.
The free event, for both complete beginners and more advanced users, will be themed primarily around family history and genealogy.
Older people from the local area are invited to come along to the free event and try out the internet. In the morning there will be drop in internet taster sessions on themes such as online shopping and council services online; this will run from 10.30 am – 12.30pm.
In the afternoon from 2 pm – 4 pm, there will be genealogy taster session where participants can find out how they can trace their family tree online; this will be enhanced with a talk from a genealogy expert from the central library accompanied by demonstrations of online genealogy websites.
