TRAINED UP students progress
The TRAINED UP project is now in its second intake of students. The first intake trained up to 23 computing novices in an four-day beginners class which was designed to prepare learners to progress onto either the ECDL or the MOS Microsoft Office Specialist units, depending on location and ability levels.
So far two unemployed learners who had not engaged in formal learning went on to sit their ECDL word units and are currently continuing their studies at Stevenson College Edinburgh. A further nine unemployed learners sat and passed their MOS Word and Excel certificates.
Currently, TRAINED UP has nine beginner students, with another six due to start later in the month. At Level two, a further eight are studying for ECDL.
In addition to the computing training, nine students have sat and achieved the Train the Trainer training at Stevenson College, and are awaiting the launch of the Web Guides event to commence peer to peer training in a variety of locations.
