“IT’s all coming back to me now”

Although Brenda was keen to understand how to use the internet and emails, Brenda was extremely nervous of trying as she hadn’t used a computer before. Initially Christine introduced Brenda to how a computer keyboard and printer works. Having worked as a touch typist before retiring Brenda was very encouraged to discover there isn’t much difference between a typewriter and a computer keyboard. Brenda and Christine then explored the internet together looking at websites of interest. As Brenda’s confidence and interest continued to grow Christine introduced her to emailing. Now when Brenda is typing, and easily locates a key she struggled to find before, you’ll hear her say happily, ‘it’s all coming back to me now.”

Brenda regularly attends the regular Tuesday morning internet taster session at Askalot to email her friends and family, surf the net and enjoy the company of the other learners who come to the session.

“The internet is amazing and learning about it has also introduced me to new friends. I really enjoy surfing and emailing. It’s very exciting and I can see how you can get hooked.”
