Husband and wife team catch the internet bug

Husband and wife team Kate and A J first caught the internet bug when they attended the February 2008, EverybodyOnline Gorgie Dalry Project launch. They enjoyed it so much they have now signed up for a variety of internet training sessions with EverybodyOnline at the Fountainbridge library in Gorgie Dalry Edinburgh.

The pair have already attended five sessions delivered by EverybodyOnline and are signing up for more sessions as they find out more about what the internet can offer, such as digital photography, online shopping and online auction sites. They have just finished a three-part online money management series delivered by EverybodyOnline in partnership with the Working for Families Money Advice team, where they have learned how to use money management and price comparison websites to find alternative utility suppliers and save money in the bargain. They have now signed up for more internet learning sessions and are looking forward to learning how to use the internet to research their family trees.

They have surprised themselves with their newfound skills as they manage to find their way around the internet, email their friends and family and view photos sent to them from their son’s mobile phone. Their children, now working around the country, are swamping them with emails.

Kate said: “I don’t think my son can quite believe it, but he is making up for lost time and going to keep us busy with all these emails. It’s a great new way for us to stay in touch”
