EverybodyOnline provides valuable work experience
Muhammed Al_hamshari is the first student to embark on the unique experience of a work placement with EverybodyOnline. He is working towards an NVQ in business and administration. In order to achieve this qualification, and find future employment, Mohammed felt it was essential to gain some practical experience in the work place.
Not only did the placement seek to give Mohammed a range of vital skills, but it also enlightened Mohammed to the world of digital inclusion and how it can be used as a valuable tool to improve economic, social and educational needs in the local area.
From day one EverybodyOnline project officer, Lucy Campbell introduced Mohammed to a number of computer programmes to assist him with the various administration duties he would be carrying out. Activities included: maintaining a database, photocopying, preparing information packs, data input, assisting at a number of Information and Communication Technology taster sessions for the local community and typing up basic documents. This wide range of computer activities helped Mohammed to extend his skills and become more competent in the work place.
In such a short space of time Mohammed’s confidence has increased and his skill level is constantly improving. He has also become a valuable asset at the taster sessions with positive feedback from many of the people who he has helped.
Mohammed has proved to be a valuable asset at the ICT taster sessions, about his experience with EverybodyOnline he said, “I have been vary happy in my work placement, I feel that I will be able to take what I have learned with EverybodyOnline and use it to my advantage in the very near future”
