Online @ 89

Summary
The EverybodyOnline project based in Liverpool 8 runs weekly taster sessions at the innovations factory, these sessions provide an opportunity for members of the public to try out the Internet for the first time or expand upon their skills in a supportive environment.
The drop in facility welcomes anyone who walks through door and the project was more than pleased to accommodate Joseph Steel, who went online for the very first time at the age of 89.

What happened?
Joseph, a keen collector of local historical photographs went along to see how EverybodyOnline could help him access the Internet and find some local historical photographs that would expand his collection.  As well as learning some computer basics Joseph learnt how to find photos on the Internet which he could add to his collection.

“I haven’t used a type writer in many years, it’s amazing what technology can do these days.” Joe exclaimed, when he recalled his new found skills.
